Dempsey's grumpy again!

He doesn't like it when his routine is disrupted! Mum usually takes him out for his afternoon walk (I go as well, but doesn't matter). She's gone to the train station with dad to pick up James, so I walked Demps on my own today.

He pulled back all the way, until it was time to go home, at which point it was a mad dash! Sniffed around the place where the car was supposed to be, then went inside and sat down in a huff downstairs. He's currently laying at the bottom of the stairs, looking miserable and staring at the door.

 Tyson does the same.... Jess wont even go with my OH. She just sits down & he cant move her till I come get her so.... you did well.

Our friends bully spok wont walk unless both mum &dad walk with him. Which they do every morn as dad goes to work after the kids finish school.

Amazing how some dogs can't stand changes in their routine.
My dogs also won't walk or work with anyone but a car ride.. they're in and gone.

Demps is definitely a very habitual dog. He hates change!

Kuchar is a creature of habit too. Sometimes it is just not possible to take him for his walkies at his accustomed time, and his pleading hopeful eyes tear me to bits.

It's so sad, isn't it?

He's now lying down by the sofa, farting for England & looking thoroughly miserable!

Bella is funny about who walks her as well. She won't let Karla take her lead when we are both walking them and she always knows if the lead has been given to her.

Yeah, they know! Doggies are smart!

The other day, though, Dempsey did something quite sweet! Mum got up and went downstairs to take him for his walk and I quickly went into the kitchen to do something first. Looked up and Dempsey was standing at the top of the stairs, staring at me with a big frown. When I looked up a few seconds later, he was racing towards me with a big bully grin!

The moment I headed towards the stairs, he went dashing down happily. Then went out into the garden with mum. I stopped to put my shoes on and Dempsey suddenly came dashing back around the corner to see where I was. Nice to know he does actually want me on the walk!

Morning walks he's not as choosy - he just wants out & doesn't care who takes him or who comes along!  

Remember when I took him out when you had your doctor's appointment in the morning? He was a real nuisance!
