I love my parents
Just cameback from the pub and we had a really good conversation, really good because I haven't been speaking to to dad much for a year
I love all of you as well but I wouldn't change my parents for the world!

Re: I love my parents
It's when we start getting over ourselves that we start getting along better with our parents.

Always sort out issues & move on babe. Life is too short to let anything fester. Especially with family or friends.
Glad you had a chat. Talk to your dad often. He loves you. Hope there was a hug & kiss at the end.

Yeah, appreciate them.
I waved goodbye to my dad when he and my mum left for a short holiday and he was gone before the day was out. Life is short.
Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

Re: I love my parents
No hugging and kissing, but that's because my dad really isn't the hugging and kissing type - that'd just make him feel awkward. Although I still do it.
I made the decision to defer university entry for a year, last September. At the time, I was in an incredibly dark place and often couldn't even face getting through each day, so I didn't feel that I could cope with university. Dad and I hadn't really talked about exactly why I deferred. When I told him that that's what I was doing, he, not really understanding the deferral system, thought that I would end up not going to uni.
What I saw as a lack of faith in me and my promises was actually just worry. Unfortunately, after that, my relationship with dad really fizzled out. Last night's talk really helped to clear the air and helped us both to understand what the other was thinking and feeling.
Told him that he was the best dad I could ever wish for and that I understood and was grateful for all of the times he pushed me to do my best, even if I didn't understand at the time.

Re: I love my parents
Thanks
I consider myself very lucky when it comes to the relationships I have with my parents. This past year with dad aside, I've never felt unable to talk to them about something.
