Good luck Ginge aka Tommy and Dave for the forthcoming shows. It's hard work qualifying for Crufts with a popular breed, sure enough.

I once knew someone at ringcraft classes who was so proud that her Lakenois had qualified for Crufts. It was the only dog entered in its breed at the show!

little tougher comp for that for Ginge Lynda all the shows so far 150+ entries . I have to say if Tommy went to a show and got a 1-3 place in a qualifying class of 3 dogs then i wouldnt be happy and striving for a better result before the big C but thats just me and want him to win his place not qualify his place if you see what i mean . Ideal for me would be a 1-3 plce in a class of 20+

But I bet you'd still accept the qualifier!

The trouble is, if there are 3 dogs in a class, those 3 dogs might be absolutely top quality! Third place may well be a great placing! wink

You know Tommy's good - you just need the judge to see it as well. happy

Of course I would and we do have some really tough competition at the moment with 2 dogs that will steal the place from Tommy in most shows but thats life . End of the day if we qualify I wont settle until we qualify 3 times over if that makes sense

I do understand what you mean, Dave. You want to qualify with Tommy beating some great dogs!

well we have certainly progressed a little since i wrote this , 2 qualifying places in the last 2 shows , they were relatively small classes so not counting our chickens quite yet but we have another show tomorrow at the KC Building City of Birmingham General Champ Show , Richmond next Saturday and then a couple more happy

I've just been looking at the Richmond show and I was astounded at the cost of entry fees these days, not to mention parking, catalogues etc etc etc. Dog showing is getting to be a very expensive hobby!
