A spider hunter.
A big, fat-bodied spider was crawling around our living room yesterday, while mum and I were having our Movie Night. The first time it crawled past, Demps shot up and frowned at it, watching it go.
The second time, he dashed behind the armchair and dove underneath the computer desk (a space only half his size) after it, so he had to be pulled back out. The spider scuttled away.
Third time, he shot up again and mum stopped him before he could pounce. I caught it in a glass and took it outside, so that Demps didn't crunch the abdomen and leak its nasty spidey juices all over the carpet.

EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUWWWWWW
If Kuchar spots one of these horrors I will be grateful to him, and enrol my son to get the nightmare out into the road where it will hopefully get deleted.
Well done Demps!

Nooooo!
I've nothing against spiders - I'm sure they do a great job in nature. But in the house? No! And in Dempsey's stomach? Double no!!

Bella accidentally killed one last week. She was picking it up and dropping it before I could catch it in a glass. She was being quite gentle but it was still too much for the poor wee spider.

Ewwwwwww! Good going Demps but just let them know so they can squish it. You all must be mad? No need to put it outside. It may come in again. Yeow!

Can't squish them Tracy! Sorry, but no - too yucky for words. However I will get my son to put it outside in the middle of the road so that a car can do it instead. spider murder by proxy.

But I am a serial spider killer! My only emotion towards spiders is the same purpose as a heat seeking missile. I am happy when I see their guts squished. "Control tower....Mission completed... heading back to base. AKA being a rational human again!"

Great - this is my chance to creep people out!
If you stamp on a spider outside, and it happens to be a female with her eggs, the eggs could get stuck to your shoe. You then walk them into your house. Later that day/week, thousands of tiny spiders will be running around your house!

Hehehehe.....true!
We hose off our garden shoes, we don't bring them inside otherwise(for many reasons). If left outside, they are viciously belted before being put on.

Our spiders, for the most part, are relatively harmless.

I can't believe you're all so nasty to our poor little spider friends. I'd much rather have spiders than flies! Take heed not to do what someone did who was in my paper yesterday. He didn't like spiders, so he tried to burn one using a lighted aerosol. The spider caught fire, but it didn't die, it ran away and set fire to his house. Just desserts if you ask me.

I used to have quite a bad phobia about them, panic attack, shaking, the works lol. Now as long as they don't touch me or suddenly appear beside me then I'm not too bad but I can't kill them, I feel terrible if I do accidentally I suppose that would be different if they were dangerous though

Wow! Firstly, I wouldn't expect that to happen! Secondly, what a nasty thing to do! He could have just caught it in a glass and put it outside. I'd understand if he'd squished it in an area where spiders are dangerous, but in the UK? And setting fire to any animal is just awful.
I don't actually know how true the egg-stamping thing is! I read it online, so chances are it's a load of rubbish!

I don't like cruelty, even to spiders.1 whack... they never know what hit them. Lights out in .2 of a second. Burning them is sadistic & I'd whack anyone I saw doing that.
But some of our spiders live by, "kill, or be killed". I live by the 1st option as I don't particularly like the 2nd one.
