Adorable video - dog tries to save stranded fish

This is absolutely amazing!

The dog felt empathy for the fish and wanted to save them - he knew that they needed water and did his best to splash it over them - he checked to see how they were doing.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted on all three points; much as I love dogs I would never have credited one with this much intelligence and concern for a fish.

It's incredible, isn't it? I don't know if maybe somebody showed him how to splash water onto them first, but you can see the concern on his face! It looks spontaneous!

It's the small things, like that video, that really make my heart melt

Well it didn't occur to me that it was a set-up (I am very naïve with things like that, unfortunately). I took it to be fish that had jumped out of the tank and the dog was doing his best to revive them (the second fish looked as if it gasped at least).

Now you mention it, it's strange why the dog owner/fish owner took the video.

But not to take anything away from the dog - bless his heart.

I honestly don't know! Maybe the owner saw what he was doing and quickly started recording it? It does look spontaneous though, so I'm going to go with that and say I believe it's real

Whatever the whys and wherefores, that dog's reactions were truly amazing and I am full of awe. It's a video I will never forget.
