Ah Dave, yes I know.
I looked at the schedule coupla days ago and there are Dobermanns showing the same day, which makes it doubly tempting. I haven't been to a dog show for years and years.
I know where Losely Park is.
I just needed the teensiest bit of persuading! I think I'll come now that I've had it - what time do you anticipate your class will be shown?

Be lovely to finally meet up with you if you do decide to come we start to show at 09.00 so probably around 10-10.30ish for Post graduate as the entries aren't huge ( 104 ) Rotties are in Ring 10 and Staffords are in Ring 6
I will most likely be staying until they have finished the Bitch judging anyway as I have friends showing too , I will msg you my mobile number

where on earth did I get Dobies and Rotties mixed up ( guess its because my mate has a super cute Rottie pup showing soon which I may get to handle ) Dobies start at 10.00am ring 25 which is the opposite side of the ring area to Staffords but still only a short walk

Re: Lynda put the Kettle on !!!!!
Well, I was very privileged to meet Tommy today, who had brought Dave along with him!
Tommy is a gorgeous dog, in lovely condition - his coat is wonderfully clean and shiny and he is a credit to Dave. He was up against some stiff opposition and unfortunately it wasn't his day today - sorry Dave for touching him with the unlucky stick.
I haven't been to a dog show for many, many years, and I was impressed how the Staffy ring was so lovely and friendly to each other and even to me, a stranger who they didn't know from Adam.
I also visited the Dobermann ring and caught the Open Dog and Challenge, and was amazed at the difference since "my" day. Far fewer dogs; long tails except in a few dogs, and far less emphasis on showing technique than I remember. Movement was much improved imho - the reserve CC dog made me catch my breath, his action was spectacular. Necks hadn't got as long as I had feared at one time, although I was interested to note that when the judge inspected the teeth he didn't just look at the bite but opened the jaws wide and literally stuck his hand almost down the dogs' throats - I'm not sure what he was looking for but suspect he was looking for malformation of the soft palate. (?)
Back to the Staffy ring to see Veteran bitches and Minor puppy bitches - I love the babies! But I was beginning to flag, being no spring chicken as my son kindly points out, so bade farewell to Dave and Tommy.
Thank you Dave for putting up with me and my yattering! I did so enjoy your company and my day at the show.

Re: Lynda put the Kettle on !!!!!
Lynda it was great to see you today and have a good old chat and lovely for you to come along to meet Ginge . Just felt guilty you had to pay so much to park your car , in all fairness its a rip off and will only cause less and less people to go to shows . Anyway we still had a lovely day and great to be back home with Tilly at my feet and a couple of tins . I'm just putting all the pics up on FB as we speak so will
Thankyou for your lovely comments on Tommy , always means a lot and lets us know we are doing right by him

I saw your friend taking the photos but haven't seen them yet, I think I'll need to open another FB account.
