That's astounding. straight face It's animal cruelty and neglect. I don't understand why they think it's acceptable, considering it's against the law to knowingly withhold medical care from a domesticated animal in need of it.

I did some more checking up and the police department says they will decide what the dogs future is after a medical checkup as their vet says the dog doesn't have cancer like the handlers vet said.

Poor dog.

You get the feeling that he is being used as some sort of pawn or 'test case'.

From one article I read they're insinuating it has to do with money and the costs to train a new dog. Cheaper to just work this one off it's feet.

One way or another, the dog shouldn't be working. sad At least until they've gotten the test results back!

Karr has been retired but not with his last handler. He's still trying to get the dog.

What?! So they've retired him anyway, but won't give him to his handler? That just sounds vindictive to me! sad

Part of it is. He's made a public spectacle of the whole issue so now they're getting back at him. The dog has gone to the original trainer as supposedly the dog was there for longer than with the last handler.
People can be so petty.
