Lequita @ training
Some pics from last week.
She's now becoming a beautiful girl. She's still such a baby though.
A late bloomer but I think if I can get her a bit more self-confident she'll be my best worker.
Just her pretty self.
The death trap.
Recall. Kicked gravel in Sue's (trainer) face to get to me
Scenting. She works so beautifully - slow and steady.
Learning to 'spin'. She's right handed (pawed?).

She's really coming on well now, isn't she? She looks like she enjoys it all as well.

Re: Lequita @ training
Thanks!
She is coming along nicely. It's just the retrieve I'm struggling with. She also only responds to pure positive training which I sometimes forget. I work my dogs with my voice and the moment you say "uhuh" to her to mark her starting to stray, you can stop as she folds. It's been a big learning curve!
All my dogs love training, one on one time, praise, treats = good times.

I always used, " jessie, working" (happy tone) if she strayed.
She will get there. How long has she been scent training? Just don't project your frustration onto her. I know this is not you but I have seen many a dog back off because the owner is frustrated their dog hasn't got it. The dog just thinks... when I do this mum/dad arent happy.

Thanks Lorraine.
I don't get frustrated with my dogs. If they don't understand that's my fault for not 'explaining' correctly.
She just has issues with training at home. I have to put her in the car and drive 20km to get the best out of her. She's strange.
