Something I found interesting, but not dog-related
One day you’ll find yourself annoyed by family or friends. Much irritating behavior (e.g. excessive nagging, talking too much, etc.) is just a way to cope with stress, so it follows that your family and friends are most irritating when they’re least comfortable. Allay their discomfort and you’ll curb the annoyance as well.
Advice of the Christmas period, I think! From a blog I've been scrolling through.

Good advice - but not so easy to do if you've already been driven to irritation!

It is good advice indeed. As Lorraine says, it can be hard to follow but if we can remember the gist of these words and it gives us pause to think and choke back that biting remark, it can only help us all.
I'm going to try to keep this in mind for the future - thanks Eleanor.

I can't take heaps of woman in the kitchen (or anywhere) all talking over each other like a gaggle of geese. I cant take more than two high pitched voices at the same time.... it greats on me like nails on a blackboard. Instant agro! Sorry to sound sexist but I can take 10 mens voices arguing anyday but woman....
I allay my discomfort with my female family & friends by leaving the area & sitting with the boys outside, (I have always found it easier to deal with men than woman, hence my profession.) I have a nice piece of pavlova or pie, with a wine or a beer. They can argue amongst themselves as to which dish goes where & who the best actor was in some obscure movie....
I find this also allays their discomfort from me telling them to stop yelling over the top of each other! F.Y.I.... I am not deaf, but can't listen to 10-15 screaming woman, having 32 conversations at one time! Arghhhhhh!

The most irritating thing is the kitchen. My dad will open the butter and get a slice of bread and knife, leave the knife and crumbs and open butter there then leave the plate on top of the dishwasher even f it's empty. It drives me to tears it really does (tears of rage!!!!! Lol)
