Poor Eleanor!
She thought she would be able to get some work done in the dining room, but I'm listening to REM while I cook!

This here is the place where I will be staying
There isn't a number, you can call the pay phone
Let it ring a long, long, long, long time

They're a bunch of men, who like to disturb me with their cat screeching while I'm doing assignments.

Well, if you're at my house it's Metallica, Linkin Park or the Springbok Nude Girls

Re: Poor Eleanor!
My music taste is quite wide-ranging, but I don't play it out loud and listen to it through my earphones to help me through jobs I hate, like housework.
But I cannot resist singing along. Now, I have a wonderful voice - a sore loss to the wider public in my considered opinion, but for some strange reason my son has the opinion that I sound like a cat being slowly strangled, or a vacuum cleaner sucking up tar (depending on the pitch of the song), and complains!

Re: Poor Eleanor!
I also LOVE Dean Martin... & his duets.
I remember once hearing that buddists believe anyone happily singing is a like a bird welcoming the sun. A beautiful thing for all to embrace & share joy in the happiness of the spirit. If it makes your heart happy, The pitch is of no importance, only the joy of singing along. Tell your son that when he complains.
We have a ritual in my family at xmas... after dinner we all sing carols. You don't have to sing well, just sing. Only those that sing get pudding.
You sing your heart out Lynda!

Metallica are good - I saw them live at the Hammersmith Odeon in the early 80s.

Not keen on AC/DC, not heavy enough for my liking.
