First topic message reminder :

Tomorrow I'm off to Oxfordshire for the first session of a three part course on clicker training with Chirag Patel.  I can't wait!

My reference list is refusing to open, so I haven't found the journals yet. The basic idea is that red objects are very easily seen by chickens, which they associate with raw flesh and blood (food). It's been suggested to be a major cause of cannibalism.

Yes, that was my understanding. There are some facilities that use red lighting to try and prevent cannibalism, so that everything looks red, so there is no target for the chickens to peck at.

The course is being run again in July, so if you had the means to pay for it and wanted to go, I could try and arrange for you to be collected and transport would not be a bar to you going. I'd be quite happy for you to stay here with me for the duration.

Yes, I think that was included in one of the journals. They'd also tried various forms of tinted contact lenses/bifocals, some of which have since been made illegal due to welfare concerns.

That sounds really tempting! happy Unfortunately, though, I think my exams are in July. crying crying crying crying crying
