The suggested dosage is approximately 15 to 20 mg per pound of body weight in dogs, 150-200mg for cats. A simpler way of looking at it is an 1/8 to a 1/4 teaspoon per day, for every 10lbs of dog weight. Make sure your pet has lots of water to ensure that they don’t get constipated.

So, pretty useless, really! shocked

I think I might start Dempsey off on some (if I can get him to eat it!). Do you use any type, or is there something special to look for?

ATM i'm using one from Asda because i ran out like it said - but once payday comes around i'm looking at buying this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bulk-Organic-Turmeric-500-g/dp/B006MVYHAA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1391025695&sr=8-1&keywords=organic+turmeric

might last longer then haha!

Price doesn't look bad (although I'd start small!), but the despatch time stinks!

yer that's the only thing that's putting me off!

Definitely start small as the only problem i could see is if they don't like the taste, 'cos it is a rather strong one. But with Chance adoring it i can get away with ordering a large amount

Do you sprinkle it on food or mix it up with something?

I just sprinkle it on their food most of the time. But today they have had some natural yogurt so i just mixed a bit in with that.

But Chance would just eat it on it's own by the spoonful! harvey's not quite that keen laughing

have been doing some more reading.

Turmeric is not water soluble but is oil soluble and to make it the most bio-available for the body to absorb, I've seen it recommended to be fed this way by an Aussie vet

For dogs a starting point might be as little as a ¼ of a teaspoon to 1 rounded teaspoon, with some linseed food oil, or coconut or olive oil and a few, 3 to 5grinds of black pepper.

So i shall try alternating with this and just a sprinkle over their food

Goodness that's cheap - free postage, too!

I bought some turmeric (just a small packet), but I haven't actually tried him with it yet!
