Turmeric for arthritis
Hi
I have a young dog who has bilateral elbow dysplasia both of which have been operated on but obviously now he is arthritic so I use Raflex green lipped mussel powder and Devil's alternative to help his arthritis but was given a tip to use Turmeric, black pepper and coconut oil as a paste and add to my dogs food as a natural way to treat arthritis...has anybody got any experience with this?
BTW my dogs are all raw fed

Re: Turmeric for arthritis
Yes hun i use turmeric, i give it with olive oil and black pepper as they get coconut oil separately anyway.
I give it mainly for my ambull who has an old injury to his rear leg, and yes if i run out we can tell a difference in him
Try and get good quality turmeric as this is richer in curcumin

Re: Turmeric for arthritis
Thanks Ella, It was actually Caryll that pointed me in your direction on another forum, I use Coconut oil anyway as well and I am going to try the coconut oil but thinking now olive oil may well be easier to make a paste with.
I have been to a Real Foods shop and got organic turmeric, organic black peppercorns too so going to give them a try first and see how I get on

I use extra virgin olive oil which is great for them anyway, plus it's getting another oil into their diet
