RIP Roxy :(
Some of you that I've known a long time will remember we had 2 cats ( Mother and Son ) Son ( Buster) abandoned us to next door and Mother ( Roxy ) decided around the time we got Tilly that she would become ferrul and only ever came on a night to get food and water we left out for her . A few months ago she stopped coming home and we heard that there had been a white cat knocked down elsewhere on the estate , couldn't find out any more information and assumed the worst and accepted it . It was her choice as if she hadn't run from Tilly then most likely Tilly would have just accepted her being around.
Anyway cut a long story short our next door neighbour came round this afternoon to tell us he had the remains of a white cat behind his shed , at a guess would say that she had been there a few months , she was in bad shape the last time we saw her but we just could not get near her to catch her and get her to the vet , so I guess she just found her comfortable spot and closed her eyes for the last time
Now she is buried in our garden in the same spot as her predecessor cat Garfield and our old boy Dusty for company . Run free at Rainbow Bridge Roxy old girl

Jen's ok thanks Eleanor , its Jo that it hurt really , can't remember if you were aboard ( but Caryll will remember ) when we were on that other place I had a massive fallout with the next door neighbour ( the one that bribed Buster to go live with them ) because they were constantly kicking a stink up about leaving cat food on our adjoining wall for her and it slowly developed into a feud

Bless That must have been so upsetting for you all!
As far as I'm concerned, that's theft. You bought the cat, you owned the cat. They should be ashamed of themselves.

We never made a stink about it as ultimately Buster would not come home and at the time she was the cat lady with no dog and did make a big fuss of him ( he still sits in the window now mocking us ) what was distressing for Jo was when the husband made a big stink about leaving the food out for Roxy ( as a cat lover ) as they said it was causing problems with undesirables attending their house via the cat flap. We just told them to get one of them auto flap things and be done with it ........... idiots

Horrible people! As you said, they should have put an automatic flap in.
I hope you and your family are alright, anyway Thoughts are with you!

So sorry to hear this Dave. Cats are a law unto themselves and go where they want to go. It still hurts though.
Rest in Peace Roxy
