Dempsey's walk - met some new friends!

It was quite hot today, so Demps took advantage of the long grass and went burrowing about in it! It was so sweet! Tunnelling around, rolling in it, burying his head.

He also did something a little surprising. He rolled onto his back and stayed there, with his belly exposed, outdoors. Bit surprising for Dempsey, as he usually is on his guard a little while he's outside. Then we had to flip him back over, as he disturbed an ants' nest and they started crawling all over him - his new friends!

Friends....yes, well....I just hope he doesn't invite them home for tea!!

He would have done, if they hadn't all been brushed off!

Ants! Definitely not welcome guests, especially the red ones - well done Eleanor for beating them off!

Wouldn't have hurt him, but we didn't really want them crawling all over him!

No, we none of us like our dogs crawling with insects! Especially those equipped with formic acid and who will find our sugar stores in no time at all flat!

Oh, these were black ants! Forgot to mention!

Yes, I'd sooner have them well away from the house!
