Collie x Jack Russell needs a new home!
An old friend from school has sent me this message, and I didn't know if anybody could help-
Hi Amber, hope you are well. I am looking to re-home my lovely dog Rousseau (pronounced roo-so, it's french) and I know you are a massive animal lover so thought you might know of a suitable home. He is 9 years old and has a lovely personality, loves people and is great with kids. Has great recall when out walking and gets on with other dogs. The big issue is that since the birth of our daughter last year my wife has gone off him and he wakes the baby up barking during the day if people park up outside or come to the door. He is very reactive at the door and will shred post given the chance. He has been chipped and is up to date with all his jabs. I really want him to go to a good home where I know he will be loved and cared for. He is a cross between a jack Russell and a collie with some other bits thrown in. Sadly he is causing a lot of arguments at home and I have tried a behaviourist to work with his barking but the big issue is I'm at work and my wife won't give him the attention he needs now she has the baby. Let me know if you know anyone - I can bring him to Suffolk next weekend. Thanks, Jake

Aww, bless him! He has such a sweet face!
I'd have him in a heartbeat if I thought Demps would tolerate another dog. Will keep an eye and an ear out for anybody looking for a dog!

Oh what a sad story, Jake must be in bits. I do hope Rousseau finds a good loving home soon, for everyone's sake.

Oh, that's sad. Poor dog.
As Eleanor says, I'd have him, but Dempsey wouldn't!

Would you like us to share it on our FB page? And would the owner be okay with that?

Hiya, I've not heard back from Jake, but I know he was very upset, and doesn't want to part with him. How can you have a dog for 9 years, then rehome? It makes me really sad. I will ask for an update. xxx

I really hope that Jake can keep him too. I can understand his wife's reaction though, it's not uncommon - maternal preoccupation is a powerful instinct.
