Teaching myself to play the keyboard Empty Teaching myself to play the keyboard

I've had a keyboard in my bedroom for years, but never got around to really trying to play it. I started yesterday evening. Now, I can play half of one of my favourite piano tunes - both hands and everything - without looking! happy  bounce bounce bounce

I'm so happy! But now my fingers are refusing to cooperate with the laptop keyboard. tongue

What tune is it?

That sounds rude, but I couldn't hear it properly. laughing

Now this makes me very happy. I've played since I was about 7.  Nothing beats the sound. love Good on you! Go for it!

Are you reading music or working off the sound?

Eleanor can read music, but i don't know which she's doing with the keyboard.

She also plays the flute.

I'm doing a bit of both - reading from music and going by ear. happy

It's 'River Flows in You' by Yiruma. Always loved it love

Only trouble is, the keyboard doesn't reach the highest octave in the tune. laughing So I've had to adjust a couple of notes slightly.

I'm having a lot of fun with it happy But every time somebody walks past my door when I'm playing, I suddenly mess up from nerves! laughing

Just made it through the song without looking at the notes! happy

I had to edit out the lovely high verses, as they aren't in the keyboard's octaves. sad But still, I did it! happy  dance dance dance dance
