Re: OMG more dogs in a fire
Hope nobody minds, but I'd like to put in that the dogs weren't being neglected or locked in cages throughout the day. The owners were very responsible breeders and crated them while they were out of the house. Must have been so devastating to them.

I don't mind Eleanor - I didn't draw conclusions either way as to why they were in cages; it's absolutely tragic anyway.
I'm guessing from your post that you know who the breeders are, or at least the circumstances behind them. I feel so very, very sorry for them.

Oh Lord, poor souls. In our concern for the dogs we overlooked that they lost their home and everything in it as well.
Dear people - insure everything you value; it's expensive and we all hope we'll never need it, but ....

I don't know her personally, but I know who she is. She's managed to raise a fair bit of money already - thank God for the kindness of strangers!

It has broke her heart too Hayley . She's a personal friend of mine through the show community and a lovely lady with nothing but love for her dogs , as Eleanor says they were crated for their own safety when not under supervision as we all know what a Stafford is capable of and this is very common practice for anyone that has more than 1 or 2 dogs
many of us have been doing as much as we can to get this lady the support needed at this sad time so thats the facts and ther is nothing more to say about it and no need for assumptions to be made , suggest if anyone wants to have any opinions on the topic then don't go flying off on stuff you don't know about and ask me , if I know I will tell you as long as it is not personal information

My heart goes out to this poor woman, her family and her dogs. What a tragic, tragic thing to happen.
Dave, does she have somewhere to stay?

Re: OMG more dogs in a fire
I'm glad she has somewhere to stay. I can't imagine what she must have been feeling when she had to say her final farewells to her dogs.
Hopefully my money will come through soon and I'll be able to donate.

This is so tragic. My heart & hugs go to out the family.
To loose so much so quickly, I just cannot imagine her pain.
I am so pleased everyone is rallying her at this time.
Dave, please send Amanda our warmest thoughts & wishes from Australia. My heart is aching for her & her beloved dogs.

Re: OMG more dogs in a fire
Firstly dave, im sorry if you felt offended by my comment. You read 20 staffys in crates and you fear the worst situation, thats a lot of dogs for any one even a full time breeder and the fact that the house was burnt down lead me to believe it was gang related.
Secondly, is there any way i can donate an item? I have a pink staffy harness that is a little faded on one side from the sun.. but i never use it and would happily donate it for auction or to the owners.
