Actually, from the comments they've shown on the article, I see truth in both sides. I do not like, nor agree with, The Dog Whisperer and would gladly see it taken off of the air, for numerous reasons.

The opposition raised the point, though, that Millan has done a lot for Pit Bulls. So give him that! I'm sure people would happily watch a programme involving him attempting to raise awareness for the breed. To be honest, I would watch it, as well. What I won't watch is his attempt at 'training'.

Hmmm. Yes, he's done some good with pitbulls, but even then I think his methods are wrong.

My worry is that other people think that they can treat their pitbulls or other bull breeds the same way.

I'd take the program off the air.

I've got to admit that I haven't seen many of his shows, because I don't/can't watch a lot of TV.

But out of curiosity I just watched a clip with a yellow Labrador-type bitch who apparently had food-guarding issues and right from the start he was staring aggressively into the dog's face. After a short while he reached out his hand to her face and she immediately bit it. And he immediately kicked her in the ribs.

Apparently his last show was made 2 years ago - thank goodness.

I think that's one of the more infamous clips, with the Labrador. I really don't think much of him as a trainer or 'behaviorist', but I would like to see what he could do without all of the Hollywood glamour. Exposés, for instance! I think it would draw in a lot of good publicity for dogs.

I'm also not fond of his training methods but I do feel he has done dogs as a rule some good. He's raised awareness that PitBulls aren't devil dogs and he has also made people aware that dogs need responsible owners. You need to have rules and order.

He needs to broaden his horizons now.

He needs to move into the 21st century with his training methods!

The pack leader theory, and training through force/aversion methods are so, so wrong.

They're the worst kind of method to teach normal run of the mill people. The people actually watching his show and trying to use some of his methods.

He could do so much good if he updated his training methods, a lot of people listen to him.

Hopefully, he'll move onto new projects and make a better name for himself. I do believe that he could really do some good.
