First topic message reminder :

My mother brought he dogs over about two weeks ago.

Since then mylo has them, and so does our house.

It's absolutely disgusting.

I've tried bleaching the house hoovering it. And we thought we had got rid of them.

But I just found one on Joseff's clothes.

Mylo isnt scratching. But I'll hose him down again.

Anyone know how to get rid of them? Mylo has never had them until she brought her dogs here.

With the baby I just want rid of them.

Oh, Shawnee, you're really going through it at the moment!

re: Fleas... Either use a spot on (frontline or advocate) for Mylo and a good spray for your carpets/furniture. Bleach doesn't kill them, I'm afraid. You could try Diatomaceous Earth as a natural alternative, but I'm not sure how to use it myself - Ella could guide you there. Just pm her & she'll help.

re: Exercise... I don't know how big your garden is, but could you throw a ball around for him? Or maybe hide treats around for him to find to tire him out mentally?

Bless him. tongue Such a gentleman!

The treats in the garden idea is good. happy Mental stimulation doesn't always have to involve much movement on the owner's behalf, so that shouldn't be too bad.

Anthony has gone to work this morning. He'll be gong to the vests on the way back for the spray and more spot on.
Is it inhumain to get the hose on the pooch? Don't fancy him coming upstairs if he does have them lol. And I don't think he'd fit in our baby bath haha

Ooo I never throught of the treats. It's medium sized. I do the ball throwing now. But he's awful at fetch. Its more of "okay you throw the ball and I'll torment you with it until you chase me" kinda game haha!
I make him out to be so unruly hahaha! He's really not. Just a menace.

Joseff has started bum shuffling so it won't be long until he's in mylos bed! They're so funny together.

He'll pull mylo apart and he'll return the pain with licks or a grunt.

Aww! love Lovely pics!

From what you've said, he sounds like a really sweet, happy dog! happy

If he's okay with the hose, it wouldn't be cruel, but it probably wouldn't make a difference with fleas. tongue The little devils really cling on hard! Also, with most flea treatments, I don't think you're supposed to bathe/wash your dog for a while afterwards. It'll say on the package though! happy

Unless you're washing with a flea shampoo, wetting the dog is pointless. Fleas can survive under water for quite a while, more than 30min I think.
Getting rid of fleas is a few months long project. Treatments every 3 weeks, cleaning the floors with bleach will dry out any nymph or eggs but you have to treat the yard as well. It's hard work.

Joseff is super cute!!!

Joseff is a really gorgeous baby! love And Mylo looks as if he loves him too, bless him.

Ref the fleas, I'd be suspicious of your lovely rug - fleas don't live the whole time on the dog but love to snuggle up inbetween times in carpets and rugs. If your rug can stand a boil wash that is what I'd do first. Then when it's been dried in the open air, spray it with Frontline spray. If you can't wash it then spray it really thoroughly and hang it somewhere where Joseff in particular can't crawl on it.

And keep up the spot-on treatment with Mylo! I don't know how true it is, but my understanding is that dog-fleas need dog-blood to survive in the long-term, and although the boogers will bite humans they can't survive on human blood alone. Eleanor will know if this is true!

Don't despair Shawnee, it's horrible as I know myself, but the horrid things can be eliminated, and kept away! hug

Thank you, that photo was from before he had fleas. Thankfully, we've sprayed it with the flea thing that's fine for babies. Mylo only comes in the living room when he's being good or he is just too hyper
