Did colour influence you?
Does colour influence your choice?
I'm getting Bruno because I've been looking for a Chocolate MinPin for ages and it made me think:
Does/Did colour influence your choice in the dog/puppy you took.
Multiple choice for Poll.

Re: Does colour influence your choice?
For me colour only mattered with Missy and now Bruno.
I really wanted a Red MinPin and actively looked for a breeder that could give me a red girl. After I had her and then Sheba I wanted a chocolate.
It's the first time I've wanted a dog in every colour available in that breed. Don't ask me why.
With all the rest I didn't actively look for a colour but the breed. Sheba, Spike, Pugsley and Lequita landed on my doorstep so no choice there.

When we got Bandit, my oh wanted a black dog, although we actually ended up with a black brindle!
With Dempsey, I just didn't really want a white, so any colour would do & red & white was the first to come up.

100% had to be a Stafford and I had admired Reds , the other bonus being not to outshine our pretty Black Brindle girl

I didn't care much when I got Morgan, but prefer dark sheps. Tristan was my indulgence - I definitely wanted a solid black.

After Boris & Zac (Rotties), I looked for the exact opposite.... small & brown. Found Jess, though she was certainly not what I planned for... as she kept on growing (she was supposed to be staffy sized.) Â what a joke! .... she is the best mistake I have ever made.

Millie was the last pup from a litter my friends dog had so colour and breed didn't come in to it. With Bella I knew I wanted a staffy but the colour wasn't really important.

Sometimes they just appear as a little parcel we are meant to have.... other times we seek & find a bundle of joy to love.

Yeah, exactly that. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

My next dog will be another mutt. Its usually a black lab mutt and i can see it being that again after billy and lexi. But maybe i will have moved out by then and get whatever i want! Dog shopping has to be a lot of fun

It is fun. To much fun
But yeah... deciding what you want a dog for, deciding on size, affordability, making a short list of breeds and mixes and then looking through endless puppy pictures is loads of fun.

You'll know! I picked Jess, but, Tyson picked me, I didn't choose bar saying yes to handing cash over. Tyson was focused on me through 20 kids. Jess I didnt let go as another woman wanted to see her & I wasn't going to let that happen.

I can just imagine poor Jess scrambling and you clutching her like Cruella saying: Mine! She's Mine!
That's what I did at the SPCA with Twinkles, rest her little soul.

Oh and I've only picked 3 dogs (Missy, Axel and Bruno).
Xan chose me and the rest just fell into my unexpecting arms.

Re: Does colour influence your choice?
Thats pretty much exactly what happened with jess. No way was someone getting their hands on her to say, I'll take her. She was mine when our eyes met! Her brothers & sisters there but she was the one. I took her home that very day.
Tyson didn't care for anyone (kids everywhere, mums & dads doing the "puppy!" call) but he followed me around. So I put a hold on him for 1/2hr to go away and think. I was shopping for my sister's birthday, not for a dog. Do I want poop in the house again? Oh....all the training... heal work... socialization... all the time again... do I have the energy for flyball on sats? What about the constant good boys & no's? Oh, so many things to think of.....
But.......
Next I was calling con, .... guess what I got today?
