I got champion!
First topic message reminder :
Twice!
This is for those who are not on my FB cause its old news really haha. Last show with charm was great. She got 1st in every class she was in and champion of BOTH sections. Two cups and a medal to add to my best year ever.
I really feel like i have established myself in the showing world. There are now people talking to me asking my advice and i'm actually able to tell them things.
Another huge step for me, that noone yet knows, is i have a stallion coming next week!!! He wil be shown next year. Not sure if he will actually do any stallion duties yet lol time will tell.

I'll know in two weeks. She will either come in heat again or not.

No, and i don't feel good about it. I get the feeling in my waters and just don't feel she is, and her behaviour is to me becoming slightly "pre season"
Next year. Always next year. But it will 100% be my last year trying. If i can't get a foal from two different horses, then god is telling me i am not allowed.

I hope you get the result you want, but if it isn't meant to be, then perhaps she's telling you something.

Congratulations Hayley, and your new beautiful boy! Sorry I didn't see this earlier.
Ref Charm - if it's not too hazardous, could she and Banner "co-habit" for a while? Don't give up; a foal from these two beauties would be sure to be a Stunner (see, I've chosen a name already!)

She doesn't want to be a mum - not everyone's cut out for it - I know I'm not!

Me too, Lorraine! I never know what to do with children! Maybe I'll change my mind when I'm older.

They ran together when they were breeding, but after it banner got a bit too stalliony and was herding her. Shes never lived in a herd, so wasn't sure what to do so just stood and attacked him lol (any normal mare would have just moved) so they were split for safety.
They are beside eachother with a fence inbetween, and so far there has been no signs of her coming back in heat. Shes officailly 3 days "late" and tomorrow makes 14days since cover (usually the time you say they are pregnant)
But i am still holding my breath.
p.s. i don't think animals decide if the WANT to be mothers or not

Well let's hold our breath!
Charm's safety is paramount, and I do understand how boys can be so you've done everything right. You'll know if and when she becomes romantically inclined again!
There's still a chance she's caught - if not, there's always next time.
Little hooves crossed ............

Good luck.
"p.s. i don't think animals decide if the WANT to be mothers or not "
I think when people refer to whether or not an animal 'wants' to do something, very often it's more of a referral to whether or not nature will allow it to happen. A form of anthropomorphism.

Personally i would have her at the vet tomorrow but her owner is not keen due to their small size. Shes taller but a lot finer than goldie, and vet had bother scanning her, so probably not.
I have got a pregnancy test for her though, but i can't be used until December

Re: I got champion!
How frustrating!
Well, she'll either come into season again before then, or not. If she does then you'll know what to do!
If she doesn't, then either the boat sailed by this time (and better luck next time), or .................

Re: I got champion!
Goldie is in heat now and being very obvious about it. I reckon it's the last one of the season so my fear is charm has had her last one and won't come in because she's done for the year, however her and Goldie are synced so technically charm should be in too.
Yes 4 months is a very very VEERRRRY long time
There is a test for 38+ days but it is so unreliable they have stopped making it so I don't really want to waste £40 (most expensive preggo test evvverrrr)
Tempted to get one from pound land for hilarity.

I was going ask about Goldie, as haven't heard about her for a while. Is she going to have a chance of romance with Banner?

Re: I got champion!
Poor Banner - so near and yet so far! Ditto Goldie.
As I may have mentioned before, a stallion in the next field to mine swam across the river and got through a barbed wire fence to have his wicked way with my field-sharer's mare when she was in season. Either that, or he jumped a 4 foot gate, crossed a bridge and jumped another 4 foot gate to get at her.
So keep eyes in the back of your head! Lol

Haha it's ok she has a body guard! Thriller is in charge and he chases banner off. I've never seen the like of it in my life!
