First topic message reminder :

Hi everyone.

I've got a collie cross husky, he's 11 months old.
He's a little poser when he realises the camera is out.
Here is mylo posing in the car - get has started to get his tongue out on demand!

Quick question guys.

All the commands my dog knows are spoken in English. Do you think I can make my dog bi-lingual? I speak welsh too, and thought it might be a good idea to teach him all the commands again using the welsh words. And then use one language one time and then the other another time.
If you get me?

Do you think it's okay to do or do you think it will confuse him too much?

If you're using two different commands for one action, it might be a bit too confusing. tongue Introducing another language for extra training should be okay though, if it's what you want to do.

I thought it might be, I'll probably just introduce a new language with new commands see how he gets on.

I always talk in both languages to him lol so he should be used to the way of talk

We went for a walk earlier with his short lead as the 50" hasn't arrived earlier and did the whole distract him with a stick when we see a dog and then give him a treat. But we've found getting him to sit and stay and then rewarding him works better. I'd say 3/5 times he listened and wasn't distracted by the other dogs happy your advise helped loads happy thank you! x
