'Give me space' Vests Empty 'Give me space' Vests

Post by Caryll Tue Apr 08, 2014 8:19 pm

A little while ago Eleanor put up a link in polls/debates about some gadgets & one of the things mentioned was a dog vest with "Give me space" on it. Well, as Dempsey's a little unsociable ( rolling eyes ) I thought I'd try one. It arrived today & I'm quite pleased with it! It's a little loose around the girth, but I expected that because the next size down would have been too small. I can probably alter that, though. But the quality's quite good, and the writing is clear & stands out well. Anyway, here's Dempsey modelling a snazzy little orange number...

They're really lightweight, but not flimsy, and very airy as well. Good for warm weather! Plus, they kind of stand out! tongue

The harness I bought was quite harsh, and the writing too small, but this is much clearer. I'll let you know how people react to it over the next couple of days.

Yeah, the harness isn't really ideal.

I personally think the vest is a good investment! happy

He had it on this morning, but there was nobody around to see it, so I don't have any feedback yet!

It's very nice. I'm looking for a vest that asks people not to pet my dogs while they're working.
I can't find anything local so might ask someone to make me one.

Yeah, I think your best option is to get one made. happy or even buy a plain one and sew lettering into it yourself!

For dogs that need personal space, I think this vest is brilliant.

I'm hoping it'll stop the necessity of constantly shouting out to other people "Take your dog away, please. Mine doesn't like other dogs!"

But we'll see........

When I can get back to walking Kuchar again, I will recommend these vests to a perfectly lovely old man who has a JRT and has to warn everyone (very nicely) that his dog will bite. I'm sure the vest would save him a lot of breath and stress.

It's a shame that something like that needs to be thought of, but that's life I suppose.

That's a good idea, Lynda! happy

It might also stop people from crowding Dempsey. He's not human aggressive at all, but he does get upset when he's crowded in.

I am sure, that when this idea catches on, it will help everyone - humans and dogs alike.

Fingers crossed it'll catch on fast! happy I love the idea!

Personally, if I see a dog with any sort of vest on, I get Dempsey under control, even if I can't read the writing. Wouldn't want him to go bounding up to a service dog or a dog with special requirements! happy
