I give up
So before Stella left she has rubbed her muzzle I assumed it was because the bit annoyed her. I put some botanica cleansing wash on it just to soothe it now she has full blown burns/sores in the area. Owner is now furious understandably despite the sores not being there when I left her home.
I've offered to pay vet but I'm ruined I'm just totally done with horses. I'll not be able to show next year cause she knows everyone and is highly thought of and I'm not (no one like me cause I admin a sale site and people always hated that I had rules)
I'll keep my two ponies as pets but I'm done.

Oh, dear. Do you know for sure whether the wash was what caused the sores?

No but it's the only thing I used and I only used it on the day she went home before that he was in the field for a week. so it is all that can be causing it

Who's to say she hadn't come into contact with an irritant beforehand, though, when she first started rubbing her muzzle? Blacklisting somebody for an honest mistake, which may or may not have happened, is juvenile. I daresay, if you hadn't done anything to try to help Stella, the owner would be complaining that you neglected her.

Who knows. But the vet is out tomorrow so will wait for the next FB message of doom.
I really just want to curl up and go to sleep for a week and leave FB.

Hopefully the vet will be able to say for sure. If it turns out that the wash caused it, all you can do is apologise and hope she's mature enough to realise that you were trying to be responsible!

Just wish I had never seen this horse or taken it it's totally ruined my confidence riding and now my confidence in owning a bloody animal.

Give it some time for the shock to die down
The amount of times I've had the same thoughts because of Demps - I've lost count! But it just means that he wouldn't be the right breed for me to own alone, so I'll go for another option (breed). It'll probably be the same with your situation! Stick with what you are confident with, even if that's just keeping your ponies as pets. Then work your confidence back up at your own pace.

Re: I give up
Also, just did a quick check on what Botanica cleansing wash actually is. I wasn't sure if I'd heard of it or not!
Considering it's specifically intended for horses, you did absolutely nothing wrong. if the Botanica caused the sores, it'll be due to an allergic reaction. That is in no way your fault or, in fact, anybody's fault. If the reaction has occurred before, the owner should have been aware of it and should have made sure that you were aware. If not, it's just one of those things.

She's pathetic. If I were you, I'd wait until the vet reaches a conclusion. Then confront her about it on FB if she kicks up a stink, so that people know exactly what really happened.

Re: I give up
I've basically left every fb group i can and would love to delete it all together. I'm going to wait to see what the vet says (but knowing my luck he will say something that definitely did not happen but its a vet so he will be believed)
ugh.
ugh.

Re: I give up
Oh Hayley
You did your best for Stella (I've never heard of Botanic Wash either, thanks for looking it up Eleanor). If she rubbed her muzzle and made it sore, you tried to help. The thing to investigate is what made her rub her muzzle.
You certainly should NOT be deterred from showing your ponies next year - intimidation tactics by other horse owners should not be taken into account by the judges - it's the horse/pony that matters.
As for riding - from what I remember of your vids you are a nice neat rider, so don't give it up! If you are at all nervous, then get a bomb-proof plug-safety cob to boost your confidence and remind you of the joys of riding.
Best wishes Hayley, don't despair

Great advice from Lynda, in my opinion!
Facebook can often be more trouble than it's worth. I only really use it to stay in touch with people, but mainly to contact course-mates in regards to assignments and schedules.

Re: I give up
Sitting in work alone is not a good recipie. Everyone's sick me of me at the moment (in sure you all are too) and I can tell they're just getting bored of this issue. I don't blame them I do go in and on about something when it happens.
I'm sitting here freaking out about what the vets going to say now. What if he says I've caused serious damage and she get legal or something? I can't even think about going on Facebook ever again now and want to quit my road safety thing.
Not been feeling great for a while anyway but really feel like I'm heading to rock bottom. I don't even want to leave my bedroom most of the time now this and I just feel so ashamed. And the. I feel bad for feeling bad cause I'm not the poor horse who's suffering at my hand.
Sorry rambling. It's very quiet in work.
