I agree with most. Good articles.

However, tomatoes & watermelon in moderation?  
Jess has stolen tomatoes by the ton straight from the bush since she was a pup. I give them a whole watermelon often in summer to play & munch on to cool down so... moderation?

I've never had a problem yet with either food with any of mine, past or present with these two items.

Tomatoes are probably listed in there generally, to avoid complicating it. Unripe tomatoes and leaves/stems are poisonous. Ripe tomatoes are usually safe. The dog would need to consume quite a bit of unripe matter for any real damage to be caused, but it's not really a risk to be gambled with. It usually just causes gastrointestinal upset.

Watermelon is probably on there for the same reason that apples are sometimes included; the seeds contain small amounts of cyanide, which would need to be ingested in large quantities to cause harm. The website probably just takes the stance of 'better to be safe than sorry'.

Jessup is a smartie pants....  she only ever steals the tomatoes i am about to pick. The green fruit is not to her liking.
Mine also eat carrots, cauliflower (Tysons favorite),  cantelope, walnuts,  Jessups favorite is corn. They both eat apples, oranges & Jess like pears & bananas.

My oma used to tell me if I ate apple seeds that trees would grow out of my ears. That didn't happen either.

I also think they're playing safe. One dog might be able to eat something that kills another dog.
My lot will eat anything that I stuff into my mouth.
