Re: Give me a sign...
Check this out...
Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu (85 letters), which is a hill in New Zealand. The name is in the Māori language.
What's wrong with the word "hill"? Chuck the word "general" infront if you like.... The sign / word dosent even fit in the photo!
Click on the pic to see the rest of the sign.
Though some of my friends are kiwis.... (kisses bro) now you know why we try to keep the mungrels out of Australia. Hehehehe.....If hill = the alphabet x 3.2692..... how long would it take to ask for a coffee & toast before I have to rush off?

Re: Give me a sign...
Do you guys know kiwi slang?
Imagine if I said....
Chuck on ya jandles, we're off to the dairy to grab some chuddy. Yeah, ill get some beers, make sure the chilli bin is ready.
It would be a week and a half before I stopped talking on the "hill /alphabet" philosophy.

Re: Give me a sign...
Just love those signs!
Christmas Pie is quite near me - it is a very small place.
Ref kiwi slang - chuddy is chewing gum here. Apart from "beers" the rest is incomprehensible!
Back to signs, I never took a photo of it but hold your breath, here comes a Lynda saga:-
Back in the days when smoking was allowed in offices, a colleague brought his daughter into the office for a week's work experience. She didn't want her dad to know she smoked, so would partake in the little girls' room and chuck in the stubs in the loo. The cleaner took exception to this and pasted up a notice "Please do not throw your cigarette ends into the toilet". Subsequently, someone wrote underneath "It makes them soggy and difficult to light". Made me giggle at the time.

Jandles = aussie thongs, but for you poms = flip flops.tracyp wrote:Chuck on ya jandles, we're off to the dairy to grab some chuddy. Yeah, ill get some beers, make sure the chilli bin is ready.
Dairy = the milk bar.
Chuddy = chewing gum.
Chilli bin = eski or cooler.
