I did a crazy thing
As I am wont to do; but it fills me with gladness.
I adopted 2 MinPins in need. A father and daughter.

Not the oldie I thought it would be but I couldn't not ask after seeing them and everything has worked out despite some issues on my side the rescue has gone above and beyond helping to get them to me. They're arriving Saturday.
I didn't want to get my hopes up or jinx it till everything was sorted.
So...ja... fingers crossed.

Re: I did a crazy thing
God bless them & you. They are lovely!
(Excuse my rudness... stuff them all, him, his wife & car.)
What gorgeous little faces. Seriously, how much can they eat? 1/2 Tysons breakfast? 1/4 of Jess's dinner? That bloke just didnt want them. I won't type what I think of him.....
Now they will be happy, warm, loved, fed.... oh, & they will have some puppies & cats to play with. Life's good in the right house!

Re: I did a crazy thing
I am the biggest sucker for a sopp story. I emailed 2 days after their story went up and only found it by accident. I don't follow that rescues page on Facebook. Everything has just worked out and the rescue has gone to a lot of effort to get them to me.
They do a have a few issues but are social. They were scared of food bowls the first few meals with their fosters. Obviously their food was just thrown on the floor and Hope had to stand back while her dad ate most of it. She's very thin but he's in much better shape.
Tracy - Missy and Sheba eat a 120ml scoop of food divided between their 2 meals and then I have to watch their weight. Gypsy eats 3 tablespoons of food a day.

Re: I did a crazy thing
Yeah, they will realize they have a good home & from my experience, any anti social quirks will be corrected by the others & yourself. They will come to know that there is no food shortage at there new home & should settle in a week or so.
120ml? Geez! That must cost a fortune to feed them! I think his wife didnt want them & he didnt have the balls to stand up to her. 120ml wouldnt even wet the mouth of mine or most on here.
So glad they found you. I'll be waiting for a pic festival.

Well done Theresa! Those poor little frightened faces will be smiling so soon with you and your happy clan, and you'll also get some flesh onto those poor little bones as well.

Re: I did a crazy thing
Ok then ... update ..
First: Their names are Rusty and Coco now, they don't respond to anything so a name change doesn't matter and I have some training cut out for me.
They were very upset Saturday and very growly and barky at my lot. I put them in the dogs room behind the babygate so they could suss out their new situation in peace.
Saturday night I did think I was going to have my work cut out for me but by 12:00 yesterday they were introduced and cuddled on the couch. A bit wary of Axel and Lequita but it's their size that's frightening them.
This morning they're already crying after me and following my every move. Poor babies.
Coco is extremely dependent on Rusty, she goes into a full blown panic if she can't see him or loses track of him. I am starting her on some Valerian root to take her edge off before she falls into a pattern. Some work to do there.
Rusty is a very easy going fellow and is happy to be cuddled where you are.
I can't understand why they were so irritating to the owners. They're quite sweet dogs.
Makes me very sad that they cower and Coco pee's herself if you reach out to quickly or your hand comes from above.
I just want to say that my Brats impressed me so much. They worked so hard to let Coco and Rusty know everything is ok.
They are such good dogs.

Re: I did a crazy thing
Aren't they gorgeous?
Sounds like they'll probably settle fully, given the time & space to build their confidence. Well done to your lot for being so patient with them!
That is so sad - poor little mites!

I am very proud of them.
I'm very proud of the 2 orphans as well. They're doing so well. They're at work with me and have settled here as well. They've played and chased each other and Gypsy around. They haven't slept yet as they have to keep watch I don't disappear.

Re: I did a crazy thing
I did think that you would have some initial problems, given their history, but I also knew that you would be aware of that too and would do sensible things to acclimatise them.
And it sounds if you (and your brats!) are doing VERY well, and you are already a hero to these little mites. They've certainly fallen onto their paws in getting you!

Re: I did a crazy thing
Thank you.
Rusty is totally in love with me. He's settled so well and is not really all that phased by anything anymore. I do want to think that he was loved and cuddled at some stage in his life, maybe when the owners just got him. He takes to hugs and kisses and sits loosely in your arms.
Coco is another story completely! She is so scared of everything. I can't think that she's known kindness in her life. If your hand moves to fast, you get up to fast, sneezing everything has her fleeing in a blind panic. It's one step forward, 2 steps back with her but she's improving all the time.
I am definitely splitting her and Rusty up ASAP. She needs to learn coping mechanisms of her own.

POOR little Coco
But you have found her, and sooner or later your dog-skills and kindness will find the way into her little doggy brain to make her a happier dog.
Best wishes and love to both of you
