Dempsey's Kool Collar
Dempsey's Kool Collar arrived a couple of days ago but the weather was atrocious so we couldn't use it.
However, it is really warm today & I took Dempsey on his favourite walk over Bradlaugh Fields. He came back very hot indeed, so I thought I'd give his collar a try. Within about 1-2 minutes he had stopped panting and was lying very comfortably indeed, so very impressed!
A big

Tie it up in a pretty silk scarf like a headband. No one will have an idea why you're so happy and not melting hahaha

Re: Dempsey's Kool Collar
No the collar doesn't go in the freezer there are little tubes that slide into the collar which you stick in the freezer.
Hot here is anything above 20c but chance being an ambull really doesn't cope with any sort of hot weather so 45c would probably kill him!

Haaaaaaaaaaa... 20c? Are you serious? That's hot for you guys? I wear a wool jumper in that weather! It was 13c overnight last night & we had jumpers, blanket for the dogs & snuggled infront of the fire.
Laughing so hard... my step father is english & when i visit, at 25c he tells me its hot &turns on the air con while mum & I put on a cardi. Hehehehehe. He dont go out the house over 35c!

Re: Dempsey's Kool Collar
We don't go up to 45 here at the coast but in summer we can have 35 degrees.
If you move up to SA's Northern borders we easily get 48 degrees in summer. It's to hot to think.
I don't know how people on the equator survive.
Dogs do acclimatise. Mine only stretch out on the tiles if we get up to about 30. That's a hot day for them.
In summer a 23 - 28 degree day is beautiful, under that is cold, over that it starts heating up.

Here when its what we call hot... we hose the dogs down in the yard after wasting water for 10 mins so the cold water isn't like boiled kettle water...go inside in the air con, chuck ice in a bag & cloth & hold it on their neck & head. If thats got little frozen tubes....dont think it would do here? Prob why I havent seen them.
Looks great but better if it was like a fat gel pack insert we could freeze.
