Chilli is booked in.
Chilli is going in on monday for her little op. Jess will come with us as she is due for her annual checkup & vacc + cartrophen. Tyson will be howling as his friends will be gone for, an hr for Jess or 8hrs for Chilli. Tyson is not happy when his dog or cat are taken away from him, & Chilli screams if she can't see her dogs, so I pitty the vet staff. It will be a loud day for them.
Con will be home when I take them, so.... sorry babe... but Tyson is going to be your problem!

I think she will be happy once she recovers. She is only allowed out while supervised at the moment to avoid a pregnancy. After her op she will be allowed out all day if she pleases.

I hope she leaves the stitches alone but I will be watching. To be honest I am more worried about Tyson with her. Both he & she play rough & I am forever telling him to be "gentle" as he runs through her or pins her down to stick his nose in her neck or butt. Then I tell her off for running after him to bite his face or a22.
I know jess will just sit by her & I am hoping the strange smell & her lethargy will make him think twice or I will have to secure her in the study away from him to recuperate.

I'm willing to bet good money this is the option you end up going with. I know I'll have to lock up Bubbles when she's done.

Re: Chilli is booked in.
You may well be right! Im hoping not to have to. Tyson will wreak my door if he can't see his kitten. She really is his. All I need do is look around for her & he knows i am looking for her, he is off to "find the Chilli". He searches, then barks in happy mode.... Chilli is here mum, come look! (As he jumps in her face & she punches him) they trully love each other. Its beautiful to see them together.
How IS Bubbles doing? She must be near 3 mths now? I think we must be due for a pic update. She must have grown heaps by now.

There are pic updates of everyone. You're not looking!
If I can't find Bubbles I just say "Where's the baby, find" and Xan finds her for me.

Re: Chilli is booked in.
Just dropped her off. All the girls fussing on her & Chilli screaming her lungs out.
Jess had her annual checkup, stressing the whole time listening to Chilli expanding her very healthy lungs! Alls well bar her dodgie leg & as expected, a slight heart murmur due to old age. But all in all, very healthy!
Tyson apparently howled the whole time we were gone according to con who greeted us with "what the hell took you so long?" I was only gone 45mins.
Now I just have to wait 6 hrs in misery watching Tyson search everywhere for her till I can go & bring her home.

Re: Chilli is booked in.
God help me... she is fine now, 8hrs later... Tyson, i & my carpet however, now thats i different question. They must have all gone to the pub (with Chilli) & then operated to remove her brain instead of her uterus & ovaries!
She came home, drunk as a skunk, walking sideways & falling over as she tried to do anything. Her poor little tail dragging on the ground instead of being straingt up in the air. Feeling sorry for her, I cleared the dogs from the floor bed & put her little blanket in it for her as the dogs won't get in there if she is in it. Not much point... she refuses to be anywhere Tyson isn't! She felt the need to make like a bulldozer & headbutt everyone so hard she kept falling over. Its hard to see as they only shaved minimal fur but it goes twice as far as the pic shows, just her fluffy guts cover it. But, they did a wonderfully small, neat incision & stitches.
Finally, she went to the bedroom, I thought she'd gone to sleep! More fool me as I heard a sound in the laundry.......she was trying to swim in her water bowl! I found her just sitting it it! She must be drunk! There is more water on the floor & walls than in the bowl! The drugs have obviously worn off & her tummy is feeling hot. She does like to play in water but has never got her tummy or bum & tail wet. Only her front paws as she pulls the dish across the floor. Apparently thats fun?
So she is doing fine, Jess is just watching her, Tyson is tiptoeing around his kitty & I am looking up psychiatrists in the morning.

She was sad at 2pm, but she ain't sad now... she's ferral! How the hell do you keep a kitten quiet! Shes attacking my rug, biting Tyson (& me) & still swimming at 10 o'clock at night!
Young snipper snappers!
(I know you all say whipper snippers.. we do to, but I like the sound of snipper snappers.)
Seriously! !! She's attacking my ankles! Anyone want a free desexed kitten?

Re: Chilli is booked in.
So, question....
They want her back in a week to 10 days to take her stiches out. I have always done the dogs stitches myself unless something needed to be checked.
What do you do?

Aww poor kitty, glad she has perked up
My vet used disolving stitches with the dogs. When I got my cat spayed I took her to get them taken out by the vet. I think that's standard practice here. Even with the disolving stitches they like you to come so that they can check the wound even if there are no problems.

Oh Chilli you little maniac! I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling on top of the world
And so good to hear that Jess, despite her great age and the nuisances that accompany great age, has been judged as very healthy - good on yer Jess
